KOFF A/S STRENGTHENS ITS POSITION ON THE MARKET FOR BREAKFAST PRODUCTS WITH THE ACQUISITION OF CRISPY FOOD

 

The acquisition strengthens the company’s position on a growing market

Aabenraa, July 23, 2007 – Koff A/S is today announcing that an agreement has been reached with the Arla Foods company on the take over of A/S Crispy Food International, a company specialised in the production and marketing of fibre rich products for the food industry.

Crispy Food was founded in the beginning of the nineteen seventeenths, where the market for healthy, fibre rich food products started to take shape. The market for these type of products have since then shown a steady growth rate, and Crispy Food has taken a strong position on the market, mainly due to its commitment to product development activities. Today the company is the leading producer of "top-cups", primarily produced for dairy industry (for single servings of yoghurts).

Arla Foods has decided to sell Crispy Food as a part of its plan to concentrate on its core business, says deputy director Povl Krogsgaard.

Koff A/S has decided to acquire Crispy Food as a part of its strategic long range plan. "We already have a strong involvement on the market for breakfast products, and Crispy Foods fits into our portfolio. With this acquisition we will be able to offer existing and new customers a wider range of products, and we will strengthen our product development competences" says Chairman of the Board, Preben Fogtmann.

A/S Crispy Food International – www.crispyfood.com, is located in Gørlev (Vestsjælland), and has an annual turnover of approx. DKK 65 million, and has approx. 65 employees.

KOFF A/S is a holding company with an annual turnover of approx. DKK 1 billion and has approx. 750 employees.

Kohberg Brød A/S – www.kohberg.com, Bagergården H.C. Andersen A/S, Nakskov Mill Foods A/S – www.nmfoods.dk, ISIS ApS – www.isisfoods.dk, Fixfood A/S and FF Beton A/S are all a part of Koff A/S.

Arla Foods Group sells off Crispy Food

Crispy Food, the makers of muesli tops for Arla Mini Meals, gets a new owner, Koff.

Currently market leader within so-called top-cups and muesli for the dairy industry, Crispy Food is based in Gørlev, Denmark and has an annual turnover of approx. DKK 65 million. The company employs 56 people.

"Crispy Food is being sold because we want to focus more on our core business. We’re delighted to sell to Koff, and are confident that they will carry on the future development of the business," says Arla Foods’ Vice CEO Povl Krogsgaard.

The new owner, Koff A/S, the holding company for Kohberg Bread A/S, has a turnover of approx. DKK 1 billion and employs 750 people. Koff A/S’ acquisition of Crispy Food is part of the company’s long-term growth strategy.

"We’re already heavily involved in the breakfast products’ market and Crispy Foods fits our portfolio.
