ISO 22000 certificate marts - 29 - 2006 The brand new ISO 22000:2005 standard was launched autumn 2005.
May 16th the letter containing the much desired document finally dropped into the letterbox. Gee, what a day! Anyway, we knew it would show up as we already on April 5th 2006 passed at the main audit carried out by a skilled auditor from DNV – Det Norske Veritas.
The brand new ISO 22000:2005 standard was launched autumn 2005. It is the result of more than 5 years hard work by international food-experts and sets out the framework for Food Safety Management Systems along the entire food supply chain. The ISO 22000 standard isn’t yet another food standard in the bulk: This standard mainly aims at gathering “what to do’s” regarding HACCP and GMP and the role of a professional management in a food company at an international level. Thereby this standard is trying to clear up the sky in a jungle of standards more or less covering the same. Beside, this standard is tailor-made to be integrated in existing management systems like ISO 9000 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environment).
However, to run a certified HACCP-system isn’t new to Crispy: Since spring 2000 we hold a certificate according to the Danish DS 3027-standard; it was due to be renewed this spring and the jump to ISO 22000 was obvious. When asking our customers we clearly get the answer: “Holding such a certificate is crucial to us when choosing suppliers”. Hence, a certified Food Safety Management system plays a key-role in Crispys strategy for producing safe foods and keeping customers satisfied as well as attracting new customers.
